Inside Out (2015) Review

Pixar and Disney once again prove that their magic was never gone. Inside Out despite of it, let's say deeper premise, Pixar's shows a fantastic execution on this movie. We might think of its idea as an complicated narrative but it's amazing how the overall movie felt very simple and can easily enjoy by all the ages. Inside Out was directed by Peter Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen, and it came from this directors who made "UP", "Toy Story" and more which are the Pixar films i actually grew with and enjoy until today. I love how this film makers express emotions from a movie about emotions itself and it was very clever and unconventional way visualizing it with such heart on it.

Inside Out is about the emotional struggle and depression of a 11 year old girl named Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) after she and her family decided moved from Minnesota to San Francisco where she had face new world, which becomes the main context of the film and this emotion of hers personified inside her head and they are responsible of the emotions that Riley is showing that affect her behavior; Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Midy Kaling) , Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The plot is not simple if it has to be discuss, because the movie might be a family friendly film but it was mainly matured who talks about deeper perspective of emotion of an 11 year old girl.

This animated film reminds us the real beauty of emotions that Pixar Animation usually give to us from this past years of their previous works which it has been absent since Toy Story 3. It was respectively emotional at so many moments that it gives some tease of tearjerker moments, Inside Out narrative was indeed mature if you take a closer look. What I've seen this movie is the old Fashion Pixar which means a great deal, even though it's a completely new movie the way of how it was constructed was very reminiscing to the great oldie Pixar movies like Toy Story, Monster Inc., and more.

One of the best thing about this movie is the concept itself, the idea of "what if there's someone inside our heads that controls our emotions? what if your emotions had an emotion?". It was well written after all, it has a very complex yet very clever way of enthralling audiences which Pixar is always good doing it. The film was perfectly made for Family, and the emotional moments and the fun moments are well put together, i just couldn't find any possible flaws about the story telling of it. Inside Out was undoubtedly a fresh looking movie not just because it's a  "NEW MOVIE" but because of it's premise, it's concept are undeniably never seen before. With its adventurous theme combined with a behavioral and emotional struggle issues, you could really say that everything about this movie is well handled and the pacing are just perfect for this kind narrative.

The look and feel of Inside Out in technical perspective are fantastic, combine it with great animation and good voice acting just made this movie stand out of it's best, one of the best example of great animation and visualization is the moment where Joy, Sadness and Bing bong entered a abstract memory, it was fun and exciting, but overall it has a very colorful yet simplistic visuals which reminds me of old days where when you see a Pixar film you'll definitely gonna say "Its amazing". Now i have seen it on a very pretty small cinema that aren't wide, taking by the fact that i only seen it on 2D just give a plus point. The voice acting are great, the voices looks pretty authentic and i love how the voice actors feel like they are the character itself from the movies, also the idea of each emotion characters have their own kind of voices that represents their look and their role are just so smart.

Overall Inside Out really shows how adulthood can be stressful and depression, but the whole movie is not just about emotions, depression and struggle of moving on while you are young one facing depression, it talks about life and human mind. It was so broad that i can't even imagine how this movie executed for kids and for family, and Pixar is always been like that, they talk about a lot things with unconventional concepts and ideas together with memorable characters and stories that we can take until we get old. Inside Out is a comeback film from Pixar and it shows how great they are,

I give Inside Out a 9.5/10 it was a must watch film today, you can't missed it, it's for everyone and surely will leave you with teary eye.

I also want to give a compliment with the amazing short animated film directed by James Ford Murphy LAVA, it was really good and simple, it's just about an old alone and lonely volcano singing about how beautiful to be with someone. The music are fantastic the visuals are beautiful.

Inside Out is now showing in Cinemas Nationwide. Directed by Pete Docter and Ronnie Del Carmen Voiced by Amy Phoeler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Harder, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Kyle Maclachlan, Diane Lane, Kaitlyn Dias and more..
