A Mighty Sequel

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) Review

There just some Blockbuster movies that you thought Great in the first viewing but when you watch it again the more you realize its good on what it is but its not Greater than we thought. In my personal view  i thought Age of Ultron is greater than its predecessor but when i watch for two more times i realize it wasn't the case, that doesn't mean Age of Ultron is a bad sequel but the excitement and the narrative of the first film was even more better. What i want to clarify is that there is some Age of Ultron moments that are better than the first The Avengers and so does it, but its not equally match up.

Joss Whedon definitely formulate Avengers Age of Ultron  perfectly to the expanding world of Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Narrative of the worthy sequel set ups high stakes of excitement to the upcoming Films that are connected with it.

Once again we see our beloved Marvel Superheroes together on the big screen again. On the moments of great meeting Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) decided to make an Artificial Intelligence to advocate peace keeping in the world but rather it ended up wrong and was formally become a treat not only to the team but also to the world. Avengers reassembles again together with new comers like Quick Silver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) that is after they realize they are working with someone who wants to destroy the world, and then later joined by Vision (Paul Bettany) to put a stop to raging treat against Ultron (James Spader)

Marvel's Phase 2 was definitely more focused in their character Humanity and that is one of the things that was put up on Age of Ultron which it makes more interesting. Now we see smaller character get more attention, we're knowing them more which is seeing it applied in the film is a pretty good move by Joss Whedon. One of the main factor about Age of Ultron is the balance of every characters Screen time.  Even small roles got a small screen time they still memorable and that just amazing. The best example of it is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) not only that he got more screen time but they show more of his humanity which affected other members that sets into a big character build up.

However Character Humanization might be the strongest asset of Age of Ultron it was also the cause of the film's weakness. Everytime Marvel showcases a superhero flick, fans are waiting to get some of a memorable Villain which we're we root for. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) was so far the greatest Marvel villain we have, he became the main villain in Avengers which staples his name for more fan after his actual first appearance in Thor. So by that fans are expecting and looking forward what are they are going to do with Ultron, Ultron was a definite fun villain and no doubt to become a memorable one, James Spader performance characterization to Ultron are just fantastic. Ultron is ridiculous in a very good way, menacing on his gesture but he is also the weakness of film itself, he doesn't have a better character build up when he supposed, he is the title of the film. His Creation is fast however interesting yet you less fed up from him when you supposed to have to, maybe Loki characterization is better because he was first build up on Thor continued in Avengers that's why avengers like him, possibly if Ultron appears in a movie and build character up up to Age of Ultron i'm pretty Ultron can be one of the greatest villain, that's not the case. It feels like Joss Whedon can't decide which is going to be highlighted, because there is just too much things to tell in this film , from Bruce Banner and Black Widow (Scarlet Johanson) relationship to making a steps of building up Civil War between Tony Stark and Captain America (Chris Evans), i think the problem is there's too much stuffs in the film but after all Ultron are still likable villain based on his personality.

From the villain character build up let down comes a very Opposite of him. Paul Bettany's Vision however might be one of the best character in the movie. Vision lately appeared on the late 2nd Act of the film, this is where Joss Whedon use a fantastic writing and characterization. The same as Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver they have pretty much likable personas that makes want to see more of them in the future.

The Action is fantastic and its Clean and Fresh looking, Specially when they Hulkbuster and Hulk finally faces each other, it was complete Goosebumps.

Overall i think Avengers Age of Ultron is a worthy Sequel, The Action is there, Wittiness and The fun and excitement is there. It might be as strong as its predecessor in many ways but somehow however its humanization and intriguing narrative is much more better.

I give Avengers Age of Ultron a Solid 8/10.
Its fun and exciting blockbuster flick and fans will surely love it and even if you're not a fan you'll probably going to enjoy it.
